​SBS has today announced the six screen writers selected for the 2022 SBS Emerging Writers’ Incubator, chosen from hundreds of submissions to join leading Australian production companies for a year of paid employment as they forge their careers in the sector.

Peter Yeldham was a writer’s writer. A towering figure in radio, stage, film and television, he began writing 2GB radio scripts while still in his teens and completed his thirteenth novel at the age of 88. He should have gone on forever.

An outstanding field of Australian performance writers has been recognised today as nominees for the 55th Annual AWGIE Awards.
