VIC MEMBERS: BEYOND THE BASICS - THE WRITERS' ROOM

24 June, 2016

THIS WORKSHOP IS NOW FULL. WE ARE TAKING WAITLIST BOOKINGS ONLY.
This day-long workshop begins with a specific brief: to create a new television show for a specific network and timeslot. Then, over the course of a day, you’ll be a part of a small group writers’ room run by an experienced industry professional. You and your team will start with the brief and a concept, and from that create your world, your characters, and your stories. And then you’ll pitch it.BEYOND THE BASICS is a superb opportunity to discover what it’s really like inside a television writers’ room and to develop the skills you need to make a career in one. Where do the ideas come from? How do they go from that to fully-formed stories? And how do you balance it all to create a series that audiences will love? BEYOND THE BASICS will cover it all, and more.Book now, because places are strictly limited.WHEN: Saturday, 16th July 9.30am - 5.30pm (registrations by 9.15am)WHERE: RMIT, Building 80, Lecture Theatre 80.1.02 , 445 Swanston Street, Melbourne(enter the main foyer of Building 80 at ground level and turn left)WHO CAN COME: Only current members of the Guild can attend.
