The AWG SA/NT in collaboration with Shorts Film Festival are pleased to present a Masterclass produced by The Story Department, a first for South Australia!
This one day masterclass will help you scrutinise and improve the strength of your screen concept, then learn how to sell it in “25 words or lessâ€.
   •   You will be given the tools to test the viability of your story and characters and learn how to market your idea to producers, agencies and contests.              Â
   •   You will learn why the logline is the most powerful tool you will ever use, both during development and sales.
   •   You will study numerous great and not so great examples and learn how to stand out from the crowd.
   •   You will compare loglines of successful, failed, produced and unproduced films to learn that even the most cleverly written loglines cannot disguise a flawed story.
   •   You will be given the chance to create your own loglines and have them tested before your peers and reviewed by the tutor.
If you are serious about writing for the screen, selling scripts and connecting with an audience, honing your concept is a first and crucial step. While doing this, the logline is your best friend. This workshop is indispensable, both for the beginning writer who wants to test a concept before going to script and for the indie producer preparing a package for financing.
Overview of the day:
