South Australian screenwriters will get the chance to showcase their scripts in front of a live audience at this year’s Adelaide Film Festival, thanks to the South Australian Film Corporation and the Australian Writers’ Guild.
The AWG, in partnership with the Adelaide Film Festival and the Media Resource Centre, is looking for South Australian screenwriters to take part in Off The Page.
Winners of the competition will have their original works developed during a hothouse scriptwriting seminar with renowned Adelaide director Chris Drummond of Brink Productions (When the Rain Stops Falling, Night Letters, The Dissolving Self), working with actors from the Adelaide College of the Arts.
Winners will receive free dramaturgical advice and have the chance to refine their scenes during rehearsal. Selected scenes will be performed in a live reading during the Adelaide Film Festival to the public and invited guests. The winner of AWG’s INSITE will also attend this landmark event.
Off the Page is a unique opportunity to showcase South Australian writing talent and is open to all screen genres.
To enter, writers must submit up to 20 pages of their screenplay and a one-page synopsis. Entries close on 25 September 2015.
The entry fee is $20 for AWG members.
Entry is also open to non-members if they take out a one-year AWG associate or student membership. AWG will waive the Membership Joining Fee for new members who enter the competition. To be eligible for this offer, you will need to fill out the Application Form and pay the annual membership fee for an associate or student membership.
