POSITION VACANT: Research and Royalty Officer
Australian Writers’ Guild Authorship Collecting Society
Established by the Australian Writers’ Guild in 1996, the Australian Writers’ Guild Authorship Collecting Society (AWGACS) is a not-for-profit collecting society for screenwriters. With more than 1600 members and 30 partnerships with overseas collecting societies, AWGACS has collected more than $15 million in overseas royalties on behalf of its members and is expanding into new territories.
AWGACS is looking for a motivated and committed Research and Royalty Officer to join its team. The successful applicant will report to the Manager of AWGACS, and will be responsible for extensive data entry, handling general enquires, and processing members’ payments.
Please note that this role is predominantly an autonomous data-entry position. It would suit an entry-level candidate who enjoys working on spreadsheets and doing intricate and detailed work.
The successful candidate will have a strong eye for detail, the ability to deal with large amounts of data, will possess good written communication skills, and will be problem solver. Organisational and time management skills are essential; attention to detail is paramount. They will be competent in the suite of MS Office software. Above all, the successful candidate will be a self-starter and a team player who demonstrates a positive and proactive attitude, and for whom no task is too big or too small.
Salary and conditions
We are accepting all applications but would prefer the candidate to be available full-time. A fair and equitable salary will be offered for the position and will be dependent upon the candidate’s experience, training and education. We offer flexible working arrangements to suit the successful applicant’s needs. Please note, this is an entry-level position.
Location
AWGACS shares its space and resources with the AWG in a friendly and modern open plan workplace located on Level 4, 70 Pitt Street, Sydney 2000. It is only a short walk from the Wynyard and Martin Place train station and bus stops. It is also close to Town Hall train station and bus stops.
