AWG SA SPECIAL EVENT: A Weekend Masterclass with Andrew Bovell
25 August, 2011
Â

Â
The SA/NT Branch of the Australian Writers' Guild, in collaboration with the SA Writers' Festival, are very excited to present A Weekend Masterclass with Andrew Bovell at the SA Writers' Festival 2011 next month.
Â
Andrew Bovell has won nine AWGIES (Australian Writers Guild Awards) for his work in theatre and film. He is one of the few writers in this country to have established a successful career in both fields and to have attained international recognition for both his plays and screenplays. He is currently completing the screenplay for the film A Most Wanted Man based on the John Le Carre novel and is writing a play under a joint commission for the National Theatre in London and Steppenwolf in Chicago.

Â
The focus of the first day of the masterclass will be on the work of the playwright. The focus on the second day will be on the work of the screenwriter. On both the focus will be on story; how to frame it, how to shape it, how to drive it forward, how to hold it still, how to make sure it's a story worth telling. Participants are invited to either do one or both days of the masterclass.

This is an exclusive event with only 20 places available to each session. Be quick to book your place as selection will be on a first come, first served basis.
