International Playwright Residency Competition Shortlist Announcement

The Australian Writers’ Guild is delighted to announce the shortlist of the International Playwright Residency Competition.

The following playwrights were selected from an overwhelming number of applications and we consider it an incredible achievement to be chosen as part of the shortlist.
Congratulations to Kit Brookman, Zachary Gillam, Anna Held, Elise Hearst, Halcyon Macleod, Maxine Mellor, David Mence and Anna Lise Phillips.

The winner of the competition will be announced on Friday evening, 8 April, at an event held at the White Rabbit Gallery in Chippendale.


This very special award will provide the recipient with:
1. Six weeks at The Albee Foundation in Montauk, Long Island NY in the Summer 2011. www.albeefoundation.org

2. Project mentoring from esteemed US playwright, Will Eno.

3. Meetings in New York and LA with Inscription master teachers.

4. Travel expenses and per diems.

5. An industry reading at The Griffin Theatre Company on return from the US.
