The Australian Writers’ Guild together with the South Australian Film Corporation (SAFC) are delighted to announce the first-round finalists of the Sharp Prize Screenwriting Competition.
Entry was open to all participants of the Story Sharpener Initiative led by International Film Development expert Stephen Cleary. Scripts were judged for the writer’s creativity, original voice, theme, character development, plot, structure and overall quality of writing.
Over the next two months each finalist will work on a one-on-one basis with Stephen Cleary to submit a revised version of their work before it is handed to the final jury. The top-three winners will be announced and awarded cash prizes at an AWG Members function in April.
Congratulations to:

The AWG Story Sharpener Initiative forms part of the AWG and SAFC’s joint commitment to the discovery and development of new and emerging screenwriting talent.
