46th Annual AWGIE Awards - Call For Entries (2)
5 April, 2013
The Australian Writers’ Guild is calling for entries for the 46th annual AWGIE Awards. These prestigious accolades celebrate excellence in Australian writing for stage, screen, radio and new media, and are unique in being judged on the writers’ intention – the written word. The 46th Awards will be presented at Melbourne’s Plaza Ballroom on Friday 4 October 2013.
The AWGIE Awards are a significant part of the AWG’s 50-year history of championing Australian writers for performance and acknowledging their contribution to Australian culture. The awards include categories across film, television, theatre, radio and interactive media.
A full list of previous winners is available
here, including last year’s Major AWGIE Award winners Keith Thompson and Tony Briggs for the most outstanding script of 2012 with
The Sapphires, which has gone on to achieve huge success around the world.
2013 will be the second year that animation scripts are recognised after Ray Boseley received the inaugural 2012 award for FLEA-BITTEN!. Open to all forms of scripted animation work, the category includes both adult and children’s works in film and television.
Entries for Monte Miller categories close 5.00pm Friday 10 May 2013. All other categories close 5.00pm Friday 17 May 2013.
