VIC: Talk to Us

When
10 July, 2019 6:30 PM - 10 July, 2019 9:00 PM

Event is not bookable.

This is a member's only event. All ticketholders must have a valid membership. Please log in above.

This event is now sold out. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please contact admin@awg.com.au.

This month we’re creating the opportunity for you to have a series of speed dating style meetings with more experienced writers ‘in the biz.’

Want to know how to get an agent? Now you can ask. Want to test your story on fresh ears? You can do that too. Need career advice? We’re here.

Each participant will be allocated 2 x 10 minute, one-on-one meetings with our mentors, where you can talk about any aspect of your writing life. The bell will ring, and then it’s off to the next meeting. We’ll work out the order and whom you meet so we can make the most of your time.

The mentors will include:  Marcia Gardner, Trudy Hellier, Chris Anastassiades, Shanti Gudgeon, Jessica Brookman, Michael Brindley, Craig Irvin, Elizabeth Packett, Karin Altmann, Brendan Luno, Michael Harvey, Peter Mattessi, John Reeves and Chris Corbett.

In addition to these one-on-one meetings, you will also participate in two round tables sessions where you can discuss anything in small groups, share experience with your colleagues and hopefully find new friends and collaborators.

Places are strictly limited to AWG full, associate and student members only and booking online is essential. There are only 50 places available and this event will book out quickly.

First come, first served.

When: Wednesday 10 July 2019, 6.30 for a 7pm start.

Where: Upstairs, The Golden Gate Hotel. 238 Clarendon Street, South Melbourne.

Tickets: $10, AWG members only.
