The ABC’s new series The Heights has been described as a ’soap steeped in realism' that ‘challenges prescribed notions of what a soap opera should be’, and has opened doors for both emerging writers and performers from diverse backgrounds. In an era when most shows are sticking to short run series, what’s it like to build a world over 30 episodes? What does this mean for character development and creating complex storylines? And what kind of scope does this give the actors?
Join writers Peter Mattessi and Megan Palinkas, as well as actress Roz Hammond (Claudia), to discuss the trials and tribulations of bringing The Heights to life.
When: Wednesday 10 April 2019, 7pm
Where: The Golden Gate Hotel, 238 Clarendon St, South Melbourne VIC 3205
Cost: $5 members/$10 non-member
