Short films and proof of concept films are an increasingly effective way for screenwriters to hone their craft and advance their careers toward longer form projects. Whiplash, Saw, The Babadook, District 9 and many other movies started out as short films. Now you can meet and gain insight into what makes an award-winnng short script from a brilliant panel of AWGIE nominated screenwriters.

Join Queensland screenwriters and AWGIE nominees Joshua Long, Bronwen Noakes & Emily Avila, and Katherine Chediak Putnam & Dean W Law for their tips on writing and making short films that connect with an audience, break down the barriers into film festivals, win awards and, most importantly, opens doors and pathways to the next stage of your filmmaking career.
