52nd Annual AWGIE Awards

Celebrating the very best in Australian stage and screen writing the AWGIE Awards recognise and reward the outstanding achievements of Australian storytellers and their contribution to Australia’s cultural landscape. These prestigious awards are the only industry awards given by writers to writers judged exclusively on the basis of the writer’s own vision, the script. 

Some important notes:

Following the success of last year's shorter and sharper theatre-style Awards ceremony, we're excited to once again bring you a night with all the best bits of the AWGIES: good food, great wine and glittering celebration!  

Join us for a night at the theatre: This year we're returning to the glorious stage of the City Recital Hall to give writers their time to shine. The Awards will be led by our master of ceremonies Mark Humphries, with AWGIE awards presented across 18 screen and stage categories. 

Book your ticket today without hassle: No more worrying about fitting your friends and colleagues around one table, fighting your way across the room for a five minute chat between awards, or wondering whether you'll be sat around a table of people you don't know. During the awards, seating will not be allocated, so you can book your ticket today and organise your group later. And in case someone gets stuck on the other side of the room, there will be plenty of time before the Awards and during the two-hour cocktail reception following to catch up with friends and colleagues.

Food, food, o glorious food!: What is an Awards ceremony without good food? Drinks and canapés will be served in the hour before the ceremony if you're rushing from work without dinner. Following the Awards, the foyer will be decked out with a feast!

  • Full Members: complimentary
  • All other Members: $135
  • Non-members: $195
• If you are a current financial Guild member please ensure you are logged in to your account online and enter your Membership ID number to receive the correct member price. If you do not know your membership ID number, it can be found by clicking My Account on the left of the top menu. Your member number can only be used once to book your own ticket.
• Refunds are not available after 15 August 2019. If you wish to cancel, email us at admin@awg.com.au. Please note a $10 administration fee will be charged per cancelled ticket.
