Join us for a special Q&A with our guest playwright Nathaniel Moncrieff who will talk about his latest work A Perfect Specimen.Nathaniel Moncrieff is a Perth-born playwright. His first play Sleepyhead won The Fellowship of Australian Writers’ 2009 Di Cranston Award and was shortlisted for the 2010 Griffin Award leading to productions by MKA in Melbourne and Upstart Theatre Company in Perth.His other plays include Tinkertown (produced by MKA and The Comedians in 2012) A Perfect Specimen (shortlisted for the 2014 Di Cranston Award) The Burning (performed at the 2014 Regional Arts Australia Summit and Artgold’s 2015 Heart of Gold Festival as a collaboration between Black Swan State Theatre Company and Stage Left Theatre Troupe) A Circle of Buzzards (2015 Perth Blue Room Summer Nights season) and The Doll Hospital (performed as part of MKA’s 2015 SUBTXT season). He was awarded the Fellowship of Australian Writer’s 2015 National Literary Award for his play The Burning based on a non-fiction novel about the Kalgoorlie-Boulder race riots of 1934.Nathaniel won the Malcolm Robertson award for A Perfect Specimen which will have its World Premiere as part of the Black Swan Lab Studio Underground from 30 June to 17 July 2016.
