British writer, producer, and showrunner James Dormer is a highly experienced creative with credits in film and television. Beginning his career on The Fixer, he moved on to write on other premium dramas, Spooks, Sinbad, The Musketeers, and Wallander, before co-creating and writing Beowulf: Return to Shieldlands. Working on Strike Back for Sky, HBO and Cinemax, he rose to become lead writer and Co-Executive Producer, then showrunner on multiple seasons of Medici. During this period, James also wrote feature films The Holding and Outcast.

With a strong grounding in the action, historical, and fantasy spaces, James’ most recent work has combined them all in Nautilus, the ten-part origin story of Captain Nemo, an adventure drama based on Jules Verne’s 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea that he’s created and written for Disney+ currently filming on the Gold Coast.
