NSW writers, and playwrights in particular, will not want to miss this very special Write Night. Two internationally acclaimed playwrights, Alana Valentine and Noëlle Janaczewska, discuss documentary theatre and the creative process. How do we best transform real experience into drama? How do we place nonfictionon stage?

Alana’s new book Bowerbird – a journey through her life and plays – will serve as a jumping off point for their exploration.

Bowerbird shows the power of bringing new audiences to the theatre to share the space with traditional audiences and details how to gather and transform lived experience into compelling drama.

This is much more than a guide for aspiring writers: this is a book for anyone who loves theatre, its power and its people.’  Neil Armfield AO
