SUZIE MILLER

Suzie Miller is a contemporary international playwright, screenwriter and librettist, drawn to complex human stories often exploring injustice. Miller’s plays have been produced in 40 productions around the world and won multiple prestigious awards. She has been commissioned by, or been in residence at multiple prestigious theatres; including London’s National Theatre, the National Theatre of Scotland, Griffin Theatre Australia, Theatre Gargantua Canada and La Boite Theatre Australia. Suzie’s most recent and forthcoming productions include: Prima Facie (West End London, NY Broadway, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane); The Mathematics of Longing (La Boite Brisbane and UK), Sunset Strip (Griffin Theatre Sydney, followed by an Australian national tour); and Caress/Ache (Griffin Theatre Sydney). 

She is currently under commission with Malthouse Theatre in Melbourne, in NYC and London; and is contracted to write four international screenplays: Prima Facie, DUST, Life’s Short and TOUCH. For TV Miller is creating the TV series titled Now We are Young (Matchbox/NBC), and The Law of the Catt (UK/NY). Suzie has a background in both science and law, and is primarily based in both Sydney and London, with regular time spent in the USA. She is represented by HLA Sydney, Australia; David Higham and Associates in London, UK.

MELANIE TAIT

Melanie Tait is an award-winning playwright, journalist, author and radio-maker.  

Her plays include The Vegemite Tales, The Appleton Ladies’ Potato Race and A Broadcast Coup. Melanie’s first play, The Vegemite Tales played for seven years in London, including two years on the West End. The Appleton Ladies’ Potato Race and A Broadcast Coup will both tour nationally across Australia in 2021.

Melanie worked for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation as a journalist for twelve years and has written for Guardian Australia, Guardian UK, The Daily Telegraph, Island Magazine, Mamamia and News.Com.Au. Melanie curated the much-lauded live storytelling series NOW HEAR THIS, which she presented on ABC Radio National for five years. She's now the Executive Producer of Podcasts at Mamamia Women's Network. 

Her first book Fat Chance: My Big Fat Gastric Band Adventure was published in 2010.
