Beat creative blocks and 'Yes And' yourself with the AWG IMPROV YOUR WRITING WORKSHOP.
Join other AWG Members at this fun and friendly event which will give you the tools and skills to come up with ideas on the fly and overcome the fear of getting it ‘wrong’. Run by writer and improviser Lauren Hayward this active positive and encouraging workshop will include a combination of collaborative games to build skills in brainstorming comedic structure character development and dialogue generation. These fun and light-hearted games are inspired by improv and are designed to suit all types of creative thinkers.

 Lauren is a story geek and comedy nerd living and working in Sydney. Lauren juggles freelance script editing teaching improv communications consulting and comedy writing while caring for a particularly moody cat. A big picture thinker Lauren combines her stage performance experience teaching knowledge and writing qualifications to support writers and professionals to explore their creativity and find the best version of their story. Lauren holds a double degree in Journalism and International Studies from the University of Canberra an Advanced Diploma of Professional Screenwriting from RMIT and an Advanced Diploma of Script Editing and Development from AFTRS. Lauren completed her improv training and performed weekly as part of the ensemble cast at The Improv Conspiracy in Melbourne and taught improv at Laugh Masters Academy in Sydney. Lauren has written and performed her own comedy work at the Adelaide Fringe Melbourne Fringe and Melbourne International Comedy Festivals. Lauren is particularly passionate about supporting women in comedy and is the co-founder of Gaggle a comedy school for women.
